Coach’s Comments:
Kids did an awesome job receiving personal bests today. They represented Canon City High School very well. I was proud of their hard work and determination, because it definitely showed in their final performance of the season. I am confident that within the next few years, we will have runners qualifying for the State Championship. We also have a chance to get our runners to qualify as teams. That’s the potential I see in these young, dedicated athletes. It is an honor to coach runners, which is why I have stayed with this sport for so long.
Just an FYI, but I plan to participate in the CHSAA State Cross Country Championship by running with my student, Clayton Melster, in the Unified/Paralympic/Special Olympic race. It will occur Saturday, October 27th at 11:40 a.m. in Colorado Springs. I am looking forward to attending this event with my dear friend and student, Clayton!
